Album Cover

Ok, I played the Wikipedia Album Game. This was hilarious and completely what I would name a band and a hit single. Picture fits PERFECT!

1. Go to “Wikipedia.” Hit “random” and the first article you get is the name of your band.
2. Then go to “Random Quotations” and the last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3. Then, go to Flickr and click on “Explore the Last Seven Days” and the third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

I could get used to this

Our school took away the Fine Arts Teacher's Lounge about 2 years ago. We basically all eat in our offices. But look at this:
It's the break room at my pastor's office building. Slate tile, 2 coffee makers, microwave, fridge, ice maker, vending machines, comfy chairs, counter seating and 2 flat screens. I could just hide out here always!!

Nice little morning...

Since I am half-time teaching this year, I am able to spend every other day at home with Ben. And while I am physically present, sometimes I am consumed by work thoughts. Like today, for example, all I could think of was a piece of sheet music I left at school and an email I need to send. Luckily, we needed to take the car in to Honda and then Tim to work. So, Ben and I went out for breakfast at McDonalds and then went to Academy to get him a baseball glove. Ever since Tim started softball season last week, Ben has been all about the "bay-ball bat!"

House Hunters International

Just goes to show you always want what you don't have.

This couple is living in a small castle in Stratford upon Avon. It's BEAUTIFUL!!! And they are complaining about the weather and can't wait to get to France where it's warm. They don't want anything to be renovated, so it has "rustic charm." And  yet, this woman's main decorating motif in her English castle is...

CATS!

Not the musical, like statues and knick-knacks that are cats! These people are living the life.

Real Estate Addiction

I'm not sure that Real Estate addiction is a real thing, but if it is, I have it! I could spend hours and hours looking at houses and imagining how I would fix them up!

To fully explain my current obsession, you need to meet my friend Natalie. She is the boss of me (in a good way) and we tend to just feed off each other's enthusiasm.

Anyway, Natalie and I were talking about our houses and how we'd like to get new ones. I had just found a house in Nat's neighborhood that I love! Turns out, it has the same floorplan as hers!

So now, I am obsessing over a floor plan and trying to figure out how we can afford to sell our house and get into this one!

New Pacifiers

Whereas I enjoy the sights (and yes, smells) of new shoes, Ben's obsession is pacifiers. Oh how he LOVES a good paci. Only while he's going to bed, but I let him have his early tonight since we just bought new ones at the store. I realize if he's old enough to say "I love pacis," he's too old for them, but I say, let's let him enjoy this last piece of his toddler-dom until he's officially 3.
And yes, that is a child size Poang chair from IKEA. And no, it does not generally reside in our kitchen.

The F Word

The "f" word in my house is definitely font! There's not a publishing moment that goes by when I am not concerned about what font I am using and what it says about me.

So, here's a guide to Jen's blog, via font selections:

Title: Josefin Slab
Not the Sans version. Touch of whimsy. I do not take myself too seriously.

Body Text: Calibri
Mostly because it reads as clean, modern, and how can you not like the name? Calibri. Say it with me: CALIBRI!

Post Titles: Josefin Slab
Think I got it right the first time on this one, why mess with a good thing?

And so, when my husband gets home tonight and I tell him that I used Calibri today, I expect a strong pat on the back for a job well done. For any teacher who manages to avoid Comic Sans for even a day, deserves to be congratulated!
