Resolution check in!

I figured on this New Years Eve, with the dawn of 2013 upon us, I should probably take a look back on what I wanted to accomplish this year before making my 2013 resolutions. Here was last years's list:

1. Faith. Enough said.
2. Be healthy - and get my family healthy as well! We're going to try to phase out
processed food and work toward real food in our diet!
3. Run. I did accomplish my 2011 resolution to run a race every month for a year, but what I didn't count on was that I could accomplish that without actually training in-between. So, I'd really like to run at least 3 times a week. I'd run right now if it weren't 1:30am and I was slightly tipsy! :)
4. Money. Earning, saving, paying-off.

Faith- you can always do more here right? But, was 2012 better than 2011 here? You bet.

Be Healthy- we did really well for a few weeks phasing out processed junk and I think I may try that one again. Takes a lot but you feel much better!

Run- fail. Did some, not near enough. Now being knocked up I can't at all, but I have an after baby goal to start training for a marathon!

Money- not bad here either.

So, see you tomorrow with the grand plans for 2013!

Happy Anniversary to us

Tim and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary on Dec 28, 2012. Tim's parents were in town visiting for Christmas and had just left earlier that morning, so Patricia agreed to watch Ben so we could go out.

Tim got me a new iPhone 5 for our anniversary! Then we went to Cheesecake Factory and saw the new Judd Apatow movie, "This is 40" which was strikingly familiar. :)

Time to clean house (closet)...

One would think that since I just moved all our earthly possessions from one house to another that I would have already cleaned out our lives. And the truth is, I did! A lot of our lives. But I'd be lying to you if I said I had de-cluttered completely, and I've come to realize the worst clutter is my closet.

When we packed, my closet took 2 full size wardrobe boxes, 2 large packing boxes, my dresser and an extra-large size "space bag." At first glance, that may not sound like a lot, but consider the fact that my wardrobe boxes did not have my clothes "hung" in them, they were folded over in groups of 10. Then, the 2 large packing boxes? Shoes. All shoes. All 84 pairs.

And the way I know I have a problem is this: I've been fully clothed for almost 2 weeks while they were packed. I've opened 1/2 of 1 of the wardrobe boxes and I'm still clothed. And well, in cute things. So, it's gotta go. SO much has got to go. Since I'm wearing all maternity pants right now, I'm weeding out anything that wasn't worn last season since it won't be worn this year. Then, shirts. Is it universally flattering? Like EVERYDAY?! Even on "fat days?" No? It's gone. Starting to look worn? Gone. Never been worn? Gone.

I'm starting to see all those clothes hanging there as a sin! It's like gluttony of the closet. It's not ok! Tim and I spend a lot of money on our wardrobes and for what? The best dressed celebrities and socialites know how to dress simply and use key pieces to flatter. I could learn a lesson from that ideal.

So, here we go. I'll let you know how it turns out!
