Once upon a time, in a kingdom not unlike our own, there lived a princess named Jen. And while Jen was excited to be a new choir director in Texas, something was missing in her life. She had her husband, a beautiful home, and was even going on her first school trip to Disney World (her real favorite kingdom), but alas, the fair lass' hubby had no job.
And then, out of the blue, an offer to be a graphic designer in the retail industry. "Which store," she cried out in shrill tones, "I beseech thee! Which store, good sir?!"
"Why fair maiden," he replied, "I shall henceforth be employed at the House of Dillard's." And her heart rejoiced for she knew she would now be getting a 30% (with an occasional extra 25%) discount at a beautiful department store in her kingdom.
And the princess was indeed happy; buying all the clothes, shoes, accessories and occasional housewares her heart desired. However, it was not to be. Five years in, her beloved discount was cut short by an evil corporate plot called consolidation. Her prince was no longer in the service of Dillard's, and so, her discount disappeared.
So, good people of my blog, when you see an item in my 30/30 labeled Dillard's, tip your hat in recognition of the good deal it was and take a moment in silence to recognize, the fallen discount.
Hi. Larious. Poor Princess Jen.
